Windsor-Toronto-Montreal Airspace and Services Review
UPDATE: NAV CANADA recently launched a web site, called “OnBoard”, featuring supplemental information on key airspace projects. Click here to jump to information customers need to know to benefit from Windsor-Toronto-Montreal airspace changes.
The review seeks to enhance the efficiency of aircraft operations through the optimization of airspace design while maintaining safety. It includes the airspace, associated services and other requirements necessary to serve IFR and VFR aircraft within the Windsor, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City corridor.
The review will explore opportunities to optimize preferential routes and airways structure, IFR and VFR navigation infrastructure, traffic management techniques, climb and descent profiles, STAR and SID designs, delivery of control services and airspace structure.
Collaboration with customers is an essential part of the review. Because of the proximity of the United States border, close coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will also be essential to the implementation of any changes.
